The amazing world of cats
Did you know that there are over 100 different cat breeds including the ragdoll, maine coon and british shorthair. There are lots of different types of cats like indoor cats and outdoor cats and domestic cats.
Cats have powerful night vision, allowing them to see at light levels six times lower than what a human needs in order to see. So that they can hunt their prey in the dark. The domestic cat, or house cat, is a small mammal that has lived among people for thousands of years. The domestic cat is in the same family as the lion, tiger, jaguar, leopard, puma, and cheetah.
The heaviest cat on record weighed over 21 kgs. But the average weight of a cat is 4 – 5 kgs
Depending on the breed of the cat, how often that cat is fed and how the owner takes care of it.
A cat’s fur may be black, white, brown, gray, yellow, red, or orange. It may also be striped (tabby) , a mixture of white, black, and yellow (tortoiseshell) or marked with patches of color (calico).
The cat is the only animal that makes a sound called a purr. Cats also make other sounds, including meowing, hissing, yowling, and growling.
To conclude, cats are an amazing pet that help us through tough times.
